What stays on your Mac
Wrap keeps your library in its own folder on your Mac. Some of it never leaves:
- Reference images you add to shots. Wrap copies them into its folder so moving the original doesn't break anything.
- Shot list templates.
- Saved window positions for workspaces.
- Shoot reminders. They're scheduled by macOS on your Mac, not sent from a server.
- Settings like your start page, menu bar icon and update preferences.
Moving or resizing other apps' windows needs macOS's Accessibility permission. Wrap only uses it to arrange the windows in your workspace.
Your account
To use Wrap you sign in with an account. It stores:
- Your email address and the name you sign up with.
- Your password, which is stored as a secure hash by our sign-in provider. Nobody, including us, can read it.
Your account is used to sign you in and to keep your projects in sync. We don't send marketing emails.
What syncs to your account
So your projects show up on every Mac you sign in on, Wrap syncs this text to its database:
File paths can include your Mac's username. The files themselves are never uploaded by sync, only their names and paths.
Each person's rows are locked to their own account at the database level, so other users can't read them.
When you delete a project, shot or workspace item, it's marked as deleted so your other Macs remove it too. It's erased for good when your account is deleted.
Files you deliver
When you send a file to a client, Wrap uploads it so the download link works. Here's what happens to it:
- The file is stored privately. It can only be downloaded with the link's secret token.
- It's deleted about an hour after the first download, or when the link expires (1 day, 2 days or 1 week, you choose), whichever comes first.
- After the file is gone, Wrap keeps a small record so your delivery history makes sense: the file name, size, dates, and how many times it was downloaded.
Wrap doesn't record who downloaded a file or their IP address. Your client doesn't need an account.
What we don't collect
- No analytics or usage tracking in the app
- No advertising, and nothing sold to anyone
- No contents of your files, except ones you choose to deliver
- No location, contacts, camera or microphone
- No hardware or system profile with update checks
Services Wrap uses
Wrap is built on a few services. They handle data only to run Wrap, and keep their own standard server logs, such as IP addresses for security.
This website
This site doesn't use cookies, analytics or trackers. It loads its font from Google Fonts and reads the version list from GitHub to show the latest download and changelog. Those services can see your IP address when your browser asks them for files.
Export and delete
- Export: in Wrap, open Settings → Account → Export… to save all your projects, shots and workspace items as a file.
- Delete a project: it's removed from all your Macs.
- Delete your account: email us from the address you signed up with. We'll delete your account, everything synced to it, and any delivered files, usually within a few days.
